Our decades of experience have made it easy for us to detect termites. Our founder William Flick was one the earliest termite control pioneers in Australia, defeating termites for the first time. This then formed the termite and timber pest industry, allowing Flick Anticimex to be at the forefront of termite management.

Finding and controlling termites is often not a simple process and should be carried out only by technicians with extensive training and experience. Your Flick Anticimex technician will carry out a thorough property inspection and inform you of the particular termite species infesting your home and what the most effective termite control method would be. We will provide you with a full written proposal for the eradication and future control of the termites.

We exceed the requirements of the Australian Standards set out for termite inspections and give you the confidence that only a legitimate termite inspector equipped with the latest detection tools can.

What should I do if I think I have a termite infestation?

It’s a mistake to think you can carry out an inspection on your own if you suspect a termite infestation. Attempting to DIY the solution could cost you more money down the road, as termites are masters at concealing themselves meaning you’ll have no idea where to be searching.

Never provoke or disturb termites or try to eradicate them with insecticides. The termite species must be identified in order for proper treatment to be prescribed by a termite technician. Disturbing termites can cause them to migrate and infest a different area. Uprooting the infested timber and spraying the premises yourself does not help either.

It is essential to have an experienced termite technician carry out a termite inspection in accordance with Australian Standards AS 3660.2-2000 at the very least. Upon completion of the report, a Termite Management Proposal can be prepared setting out the technician’s recommendations and how much it would cost to implement them.

What is the cost of a termite inspection?

It is difficult to pin a specific price on a termite inspection report since the amount of work that goes into compiling one can vary greatly depending on the size and design of the property.  As a general guideline, a report for an average-sized home with three bedrooms, a garage, a study and family room should cost approximately $250 to $300, not including GST. For a quotation, call us on 13 14 40.

When can affected timbers be replaced?

If any timber structures in your home have been damaged, they should only be repaired or replaced once all termite activity has halted and the colony has been declared dead. We will perform a follow-up visit at which we will confirm successful eradication or control of the offending termite activity.

What are termite inspections available?

Flick Anticimex offers three different termite inspections for your property. We can do a general timber pest inspection conducted by our highly professional technician. During this Timber Pest Inspection, the technician will:

    1. Inspect all buildings, structures, and attachments containing timber and cellulose.
    2. Inspect timber fences, decks, pergolas, and outbuildings.

Inspect all trees and landscape timbers on the property.

  1. Provide recommendations, advice, a detailed treatment program, and quotation.

We also offer detection dog inspections, for accurate and fast detection in houses that have hard to access areas. For more information on our termite detection dogs, click here.

Finally, we offer pre-purchase timber pest inspections for people looking to conduct timber pest inspections on their recently purchased home. For more information on our pre-purchase termite inspections, see question below.

All Flick Anticimex Pty Ltd (QBCC Act Lic 54798) Timber Pest inspections are carried out in accordance with Australian Standard 4349.3 (2010) and Australian Standard 4349.0 (2007).
