How Flick is Keeping the Aveo Aged Care Community Safe & Compliant

Our client Aveo runs a network of aged care facilities across Australia. Headquartered out of Brisbane, they have sites in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.

Aveo offers world-class living options including Independent Living, Serviced Apartments, Residential Aged Care and Respite Care. They are invested in continually improving their offering to residents and staying compliant in an industry which is heavily regulated by the government.

The Challenge

Aveo were looking for a pest control partner that could provide them with consistent delivery and a stringent framework which would meet the requirements of each site. To stay compliant, Aveo also requires their sites to be serviced at specific frequencies.

They needed an accredited, experienced pest control company which could deliver national services, with a dedicated account manager. As each Aveo site is managed independently by site managers, they also needed a responsive national client coordinator.

The Solution

With nationwide capabilities and a state-of-the art approach to pest control, Flick were able to meet all Aveo’s requirements, winning the tender to provide pest and termite services in December 2018.

Over the past two years, we have optimised monthly pest control for each of their sites and created straightforward but effective reporting mechanisms, which allow Aveo to meet compliance and auditing obligations easily.

Kitchens are now serviced monthly, while external pest treatments and annual termite inspections take place annually. These visits are coordinated by the dedicated Flick account manager. Detailed termite inspection reports are provided after the visual inspections, with any evidence of activity noted and full recommendations provided.

However, any emergency pest infestations across the Aveo network are responded to as a priority, with local technicians deployed immediately.

To keep Aveo compliant, all attending Flick technicians use an app called Verified to log service activity. This can be tracked by Aveo via our Flick digital portal for clients. Our National Account Manager & National Coordinator hold quarterly review meetings with Aveo management to provide reports and ensure KPIs are being met.

The Result

Through our strong working relationship, continual tracking and transparent communication, Flick has helped Aveo optimise their pest control systems, keep residents safe from health threats and stay compliant in a highly regulated industry.

We have eradicated major pests onsite and kept food preparation spaces hygienic. Flick has also started introducing SMART technology to the network, which uses the latest software to remote monitor sites for optimum rodent control.
