Pressrelease 03-05-2017 The pest industry has finally come together to educate the public on the implications of pests. The first ever Global Pest Awareness Day has been announced to raise awareness on the dangers of pests around the world.
How much do you know about pests and how they affect you, your family and the environment? The World Health Organisation (WHO), the Federation of Asian & Oceania Pest Managements Associations (FAOPMA), the National Pest Management Association in the USA (NPMA) and the Confederation of European Pest Management Associations (CEPA) have lent their support to establish an initiative to raise awareness on the role of professional pest managers in protecting food, homes, families and the environment in which we live.
Environmental and health hazards caused by pests such as rodents, mosquitoes and snakes are often overlooked in light of seemingly more serious concerns such as casualties caused sharks and bears.
DID YOU KNOW that the tiny mosquito kills approximately two million people a year? Sharks are known to kill 12 people a year and bears kill 90 people. Australia is known to house a number of deadly pests so it is extremely important to raise awareness for our public and equip them with the right protection.
Flick Anticimex is one of Australia’s oldest and largest pest control companies, servicing over 54,000 commercial sites and well over 100,000 homes. To support the cause and help the local people, Flick will be holding a pop-up kiosk in selected shopping centres across Australia.
If you have unknown pests lurking around your home or business, our qualified pest professionals will be there to help you identify and treat them. To find out which shopping centres we’ll be in, more information can be found here.
